CCTV Drain Surveys in Purley & Surrey

CCTV inspections for one or two runs are £150. Full domestic surveys start from £400 and include video footage, a written report and a drainage plan. Call Dan to discuss what needs checking.

When is a CCTV drain survey useful?

You do not always need a full system survey. We can inspect one or two runs that are causing concern, or survey the accessible drainage across the whole property. Our full survey package includes a written report, video footage and a drainage plan, giving you a clear record of the inspection and findings.

Suspected drain damage

Camera footage can reveal visible defects such as cracks, displaced joints and root intrusion in the sections of drainage that can be reached.

Full system surveys

For a wider picture of your drainage, we can carry out a full system survey of the accessible pipework. The full survey package includes a written report, video footage and a drainage plan of the surveyed system.

What happens during a CCTV inspection?

We discuss your drainage concerns and check suitable access points before inspecting the accessible pipework with a CCTV drain camera. Your full survey includes video footage, a written report and a drainage plan. Dan explains the findings and practical next steps. Deposits, standing water or obstructions can limit visibility; any clearing or jetting needed will be discussed with you.

Full chamber and manhole inspections

Alongside the camera survey, we carry out detailed inspections of all accessible chambers and manholes within the agreed survey scope. Our chamber records cover:

  • Construction and materials: chamber wall and base construction, including identifiable brickwork, concrete, plastic or rendered surfaces.
  • Dimensions and depths: internal length, width or diameter, invert depth (depth to the pipe channel), and connection depths where measurable.
  • Covers and frames: lid and frame materials, dimensions, type and visible condition.
  • Pipework and flow: incoming and outgoing connections, pipe sizes and materials, line references, flow direction and destinations where established.
  • Internal features: channels, benching, backdrops and their invert depths, and visible access steps.
  • Condition and defects: visible cracks, damaged or loose material, poor benching, deposits, obstructions, root ingress and other concerns.
  • Clear inspection records: chamber inspection sheets, condition notes, sketches and photographs to support the written report and drainage plan.

Inspection and measurements are subject to safe access, covers being liftable and visibility. Any chambers that cannot be inspected, or details that cannot be confirmed, are clearly recorded.

Training and site access for commercial work

Warlingham CCTV survey and manhole repair

A homeowner asked me to check for tree-root ingress. I found no roots in the drains I surveyed, traced the route of the pipework and drew up a full drainage plan.

I then repaired defects in the manhole that were contributing to damp near the extension, where there were also concerns about possible subsidence.

“Dan was extremely helpful, prompt and informative. I would wholeheartedly recommend him.”

What should I send for a quote? Send your postcode, a photo if you can, and a quick description of what’s happening. If it’s a recurring blockage, tell me when it last happened.
